New Sage Automation Lightweight Gantry
Sage Automation is proud to announce the sale of our new lightweight gantry design for use in a palletizing process of poly wrapped paper rolls.

Press to Pallet
Signatures, which are loose stacks of thin printed-paper sheets used in the book making industry, exit the press in uniform, strictly aligned stacks. These signatures must be stacked on pallets for work-in-process storage. Successful automation of this application requires that loose stack alignment not be disturbed during the conveying or the palletizing process.
Sage Automation designed a system to meet this customer's demands.
Pallet to Gluer Robotic Feeding System
Folding cartons are made in two steps: printing and folding/gluing. Historically, the press output is stacked and stored as Work in Process (WIP). At a later time this material is then removed from storage, manually unloaded, and fed into the gluer hopper.
Sage Automation designed a pallet to gluer feeding system that eliminates the manual unload and gluer feed processes.
Gluer to Dock Robotic Palletizing System
Once folded, printed cartons exit the gluer they are packed in cases and palletized for shipping.
Successful automation of this palletizing process requires that open topped cases with unsealed bottoms (minor flaps out) be successfully transported from conveyor to pallet. Sage Automation designed a system to meet this customer's demands.
Folding Carton Handling Systems
Press-to-Gluer Systems are available as single line units or as multi-line units. Systems are available that collect the printed and cut stacks of folding cartons from multiple presses and deliver them to a central gluing area.
A vast reduction in WIP is a major benefit of these systems. Justification is often made by ergonomic gains with WIP reduction being a bonus.
High Speed Bundle Unitizer
Sage Automation's new corrugated bundle unitizer is capable of automatic squaring of flat or tapered bundles, either loose or tied, at rates of up to 20 bundles per minute. The modular construction of this unit enables it to be delivered in various configurations to meet the flow requirements of virtually any existing facility.
Layer Handling
Distribution Centers typically stock full pallet load quantities of hundreds to thousands of different products. These full pallets must be broken down into pallets containing a mix of different SKUs for shipment to retail outlets based on time-sensitive orders.
This process has historically been an extremely labor-intensive operation, and due to its manual nature, prone to errors.
