Industrial Controls Upgrades
Sage modernizes aging automation controls to reduce obsolescence risk, improve diagnostics and support current production and plant-network requirements.

Upgrade controls without losing the process knowledge in the machine
A controls upgrade is not a component swap. Existing PLC logic, robot programs, safety functions, operator workflows and machine interfaces contain years of process knowledge that must be understood before hardware is replaced.
Sage documents the installed system, develops the migration plan, updates drawings and software, tests the new controls and coordinates commissioning around the available shutdown. The scope can include PLCs, HMIs, drives, networks, safety controls and remote-support infrastructure.
Application data to define
- Existing programs and electrical drawings
- Hardware lifecycle and spare availability
- Required plant-network standards
- Safety-system modification scope
- Available shutdown duration
- Testing, training and rollback plan
What the system can include
Obsolescence planning
Identify unsupported controls and prioritize replacements according to production risk and available spares.
Software migration
Translate and improve PLC, HMI, robot and safety logic while preserving required machine behavior.
Commissioning support
Test interfaces, sequences, faults and recovery modes during planned installation and startup.
Frequently asked questions
Can controls be upgraded in phases?
Often, yes. A phased plan can reduce shutdown risk, but interfaces between old and new equipment must be carefully defined and tested.
Will Sage update the drawings and program backups?
Documentation deliverables are defined in the project scope and can include updated electrical drawings, software backups and operating information.
